What is Cold Process Soap?
It's soap the way Great-Great-Great Grandma would have made it — crafted with simple ingredients and free from preservatives, emulsifiers, sulfates, and other harmful additives.
Cold process soap is created by blending oils and fats with lye, initiating a chemical reaction that forms soap. This technique requires no external heat and allows the ingredients to naturally combine and harden over several weeks. We "super fat" our soap, meaning there are residual free-floating oils in the soap after saponification. This extra oil acts as a conditioning agent, providing added moisture to leave your skin feeling softer and more nourished.

The Traditional Oils
Olive Oil:
A classic in traditional soapmaking, olive oil creates a gentle, conditioning lather that helps keep skin soft and comfortable. Naturally rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, it supports smooth, nourished skin.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil contributes the bubbly, cleansing lather that makes soap feel fresh and satisfying to use. Its naturally occurring fatty acids help lift away dirt and oils while keeping skin balanced.
Castor Oil: Known for its rich, creamy lather, castor oil helps stabilize bubbles and adds a silky feel to the soap.
Avocado Oil:
Rich in vitamins and fatty acids, avocado oil helps nourish the skin and contribute to the gentle feel of the soap.
The Creamy Base
Shea Butter: Packed with nourishing fatty acids and vitamins, shea butter helps support soft, hydrated skin while contributing to a creamy lather.
Sustainably-Sourced Palm Oil: Responsibly sourced palm oil helps give soap its firmness and long-lasting structure while contributing to a stable, creamy lather.
Kaolin Clay:
Works as a gentle cleanser, exfoliant, and luxurious additive in soap, providing a silky, smooth, and creamy lather. It is commonly used to absorb excess oils without over-drying the skin, making it ideal for sensitive skin types. It also acts as a fragrance fixative, helping scents last longer in the finished bar.
The Finishing Touches
Essential Oils:
Pure essential oils provide the natural aroma of the soap. Carefully chosen plant-derived oils create refreshing, calming, or uplifting scents while complementing the gentle ingredients in the bar.
Natural Colorants:
Some varieties are naturally colored using traditional ingredients like turmeric and indigo. These plant and mineral colorants give each bar its unique appearance while keeping the formula simple and thoughtfully crafted.

What fragrances and colorants do you use?
⟡ We are a family with sensitive skin and endocrine systems. It’s actually why we started our product line! We’re very mindful about our ingredients and carefully choose oils, butters, and other components that are safe, gentle, and effective. We have done our research to find top-tier fragrance oils.
⟡ We use high-quality essential oils and the cleanest fragrance oils that comply with California’s Prop 65 regulations, ensuring they are free from phthalates, parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, and other harmful chemicals.
⟡ For coloring, we use natural colorants like indigo, turmeric, and oxides that are naturally derived from the earth, as well as skin-safe micas that are chosen specifically because they cannot be absorbed into your skin and will rinse off easily.
